The Boogeyman 2023 Movie Review Trailer Poster Release Date

The Boogeyman is an upcoming film adaptation based on a short story by Stephen King. Directed by Rob Savage, the film aims to expand on the original story by keeping its main theme and exploring its scarier elements. Despite being a sparse story, Savage plans to incorporate a Sixth Sense-inspired style into the film. In an interview with Empire Magazine, Savage described The Boogeyman as the scariest movie he's ever made, surpassing his previous work on the supernatural horror film Host. While initial plans suggested a release on Hulu, The Boogeyman will now have a theatrical debut on June 2, 2023. Positive test screenings contributed to the decision to prioritize a theatrical release, allowing audiences to experience the terror of King's story on the big screen. While there's no confirmed streaming release date, the movie is expected to eventually be available on Hulu.

The cast of The Boogeyman is remarkable, with talented actors in key roles. Chris Messina stars as Will, a recent widower and father of two girls. Sophie Thatcher takes on the role of Sadie, the naturally skeptical older sister. Vivien Lyra Blair plays Sawyer, the youngest daughter. Other cast members include David Dastmalchian as Will's patient Lester, Marin Ireland as Rita, LisaGay Hamilton as Dr. Weller and Madison Hu in an undisclosed role.
