The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an action-adventure game that was released in 2022 for the Nintendo Switch. Developed by Nintendo, the game is the latest addition to the critically acclaimed Legend of Zelda franchise. Tears of the Kingdom is a sequel to the 2017 game Breath of the Wild and features many of the same gameplay mechanics and characters. In Tears of the Kingdom, players take control of Link, the hero of Hyrule, as he embarks on a new quest to save the kingdom from a new threat. The game takes place several years after the events of Breath of the Wild, and the kingdom of Hyrule is once again in danger. The story begins when Link is summoned to the throne room of Hyrule Castle, where Princess Zelda tells him of a new darkness that has arisen in the kingdom.
