Following the SmartLess podcast team's live tour of Boston, Brooklyn, Washington D.C., Chicago, Madison, Wisconsin, and Los Angeles in February 2023, SmartLess: On the Road captures the hilarious behind-the-scenes moments of their tour.
After the success of their podcast, three comedy actors, hosts(Podcast host) embraced on a cross-country adventure, to meet with popular personality from various kind of people, as they do on their podcast, except this time it is live. They also follow the format of their original podcast in which one host introduces a mystery guest to the other two at the end of the episode.

The trailer for SmartLess: On the Road was revealed exclusively during Warner Bros. Discovery's introduction of Max, rebranded as HBO Max. As with most live tour documentaries, this follow-up to the hit podcast also explores behind-the-scenes stories, as well as the three podcasters' views on everything, as they travel from city to city.
Set against the backdrop of some of the most beautiful cities in North America, the hosts take their popular podcast on the road and meet famous people in person. At each stop, they meet a famous friend or famous personality and take home an unforgettable and hilarious experience, while soaking up the local vibe. The series seems to be shot in black and white, as the trailer shows, which makes it seem more candid, with a classic documentary feel, except for the non-stop hilarity and laughs that result from the trio's antics.
