Haunted Mansion 2023 Movie Trailer Poster Release Date

Disney has unveiled the highly anticipated first trailer for the upcoming film "Haunted Mansion," a modern remake of the 2003 film inspired by the iconic Disneyland attraction of the same name. The supernatural comedy features an all-star cast that includes LaKeith Stanfield, Rosario Dawson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jared Leto, Winona Ryder, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Dan Levy, and Tiffany Haddish.



Directed by Justin Simien, known for his work on "Dear White People," and written by Katie Dippold, "Haunted Mansion" promises a fresh take on the beloved story. Rosario Dawson takes on the title role of Gabbie, a single mother who unknowingly moves into a haunted mansion in the heart of New Orleans with her 9-year-old son, played by Chase Dillon. Determined to rid her new home of its spectral inhabitants, Gabbie seeks the help of a dubious paranormal expert played by LaKeith Stanfield, a psychic played by Tiffany Haddish, a priest played by Owen Wilson, and a historian played by Danny DeVito.

The inspiration behind Simien's passion for the project can be traced back to his own experiences working at the Walt Disney theme park, where he would take breaks to ride the Haunted Mansion ride. Speaking at Disney's D23 Expo in September 2022, Simien revealed that his personal connection to the attraction and his love for the Easter eggs hidden in it fueled his desire to create a film that would pay homage to the beloved Disney attraction.

Leto's involvement in the film adds an exciting layer of nostalgia for fans of the Haunted Mansion attraction. He plays Hatbox Ghost, a character known for his disappearing head, which magically reappears inside a hatbox. The Hatbox Ghost was initially introduced to the attraction in 1969 but was subsequently removed, ultimately making a triumphant return in May 2015. Leto's portrayal of this iconic character is sure to captivate audiences and evoke fond memories of the attraction.

"Haunted Mansion" will hit theaters on July 28 and will offer a mix of supernatural comedy, mystery and adventure.
