Alison Sweeney, known as executive producer and star of the "Hannah Swensen Mystery" films, has officially confirmed another installment of the beloved TV movie series for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. This exciting news comes just two days before the release of the latest film in the franchise, titled "Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery."


The upcoming film will be based on the book "A Zest for Death: A Hannah Swensen Mystery" by Joanne Fluke. Sweeney expressed her admiration for both the book and the television adaptation of it, noting her focus on family dynamics, detective skills and Hannah's romantic relationships.

In the upcoming film, Hannah's mother, Dolores (played by Barbara Niven), will return to find the lifeless body of a homeowner as she searches for a new home for her sister, Michelle. Hannah, trusting her intuition, will team up with her friend Norman (played by Gabriel Hogan) to investigate the strange occurrences at the victim's home.

The story revolves around the discovery of a skeleton in a building undergoing renovation, hinting at secrets hidden within the residents of Lake Eden. As Detective Mike Kingston (played by Cameron Mathison), Swensen's fiancé, becomes involved in the investigation, Hannah takes it upon herself to follow her own leads. Throughout her journey, she seeks the support of her mother as they work together to unravel the mystery and discover the victim's identity.
