'Bholaa' Movie Review: Bholaa may or may not be successful at the box office, but she is to be praised for one thing in particular, that she exposed the circle of so-called critics badly. Those who steal stars in a movie like Pathan, and don't even appreciate Gangs of Wasseypur, have been torn to pieces.
Let's start the 'Bholaa' movie review with the story, directed by Ajay Devgan, the movie is an official remake of the Tamil film Kaithi. The film is set in Purvanchal, where SP Diana Joseph has recently uncovered a major drug deal, and the "Seeka gang" wants to avenge him at all costs.
Meanwhile, a prisoner named Bholaa is released from jail after 10 years and longs to meet his daughter. But how does he get caught up in this episode and can he meet his daughter or not? That is what “Bholaa” is all about.
When Ajay Devgan said that this movie would be different from “Kaithi”, many people ridiculed him for taking it lightly. But in 'Bholaa' he clearly demonstrated two things: one should not make the mistake of underestimating him and secondly, he is proving to be a long running racehorse in the field of directing.
Three points are enough to say how different this Kaithi movie is: the location of the movie, the character of Tabu and Abhishek Bachchan. The difference between "Kaithi" and "Bholaa" is as much as between Khichdi and Bisibele Bhaat. The basic ingredients of both are almost the same, except that one has higher priority than tadka and spices, and the same goes for Bholaa.
Apart from this, the way Tabu played the original character of SP Diana Joseph, clearly makes this movie different from “Kaithi”. Here much importance has been attached to human sensitivity and action. And why not? How can you expect to be successful if the basics are not correct?
Bholaa had claimed that he would be a pure action artist, and that was exactly what happened. Ajay Devgan should be commended for this. Tabu and Vineet Kumar have also done their roles justice. But the ones that will surprise you the most are Deepak Dobriyal as Ashwatthama aka Ashu and Sanjay Mishra as Havaldar Angad Yadav.
Both have been well-known comedians, but both have made their mark doing the exact opposite and playing Abhishek Bachchan, who leaves an indelible mark in just two scenes.
We had already predicted that Bholaa would not receive very positive reviews, and it did. But based on what the critics have done, I don't know why Danny Gomes from “Chup” comes to mind.
If you have a problem with the setting of the movie, the idea of the movie, or if you have a problem with the fact that the script wasn't good, that's understandable.
But based on the review of “Bholaa”, most of the critics had put flowers in the way of movies like “Pathan” and “Brahmastra” for the same points.
Some even stated that “Bholaa's action was not excellent and that it was not as strong as that of 'Pathan'. It totally depends on the audience and their favoritism towards the actor.
So is this movie a masterpiece? No, there are some shortcomings in this film, which could not be hidden even after the tireless efforts of Ajay Devgan. For some time in the first half, the script wandered in a few places. If the theme song hadn't been there, the script would have been tighter. Other than this, there was some dialogue that got buried in the BGM noise.
But if we define “Bholaa” in one word, then it is the movie that will rock you. Yes, according to “kaithi” lovers, it could have been a bit better, of which I am one too, but entertainment and thrill-wise, the movie did not disappoint at all. This is a pure masala movie, which you can watch without hesitation in the movie theater.
